  • Teens ages 14–17 are welcome to attend the Kulia I Ka Punawai Hula Conference at the Sheraton Hotel and Fairplex Conference Center with a parent or designated guardian. Minors must stay in the same or adjoining hotel room as their parent or guardian, who is responsible for their supervision throughout the event.

  • Guardians do not need to take the same classes as the minor but must remain reachable by phone and present on-site at all times. Each minor’s lanyard will include emergency contact information for quick communication.

  • A signed Parent Waiver and Consent Form is required for all minors. The waiver confirms responsibility for the child’s safety and releases Kulia I Ka Punawai, the Sheraton Hotel, and the Fairplex Conference Center from liability. This ensures a safe and enriching experience for all youth participants.

  • Parents or guardians who are not registered participants of the Hula Conference may purchase a Meal Ticket to join their minor for all scheduled meals during the event. The Meal Ticket includes all provided meals for the duration of the conference, regardless of whether the ticket holder attends or eats at each meal.

Meal Tickets must be purchased separately from the Hula Conference registration package and are available exclusively through the Hula Conference Store. All Meal Ticket purchases must be completed no later than March 31, 2026. No Meal Tickets will be sold after this date or on-site during the event.

Hula Conference Reviews

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “A Truly Unforgettable Hula Experience!” I’ve made so many wonderful new friendships with members from other hālau and built amazing bonds with my own hula sisters. This event radiates aloha! It’s welcoming, uplifting, and filled with positive energy. Truly one of the most fun and inspiring hula gatherings on the mainland!"

  • "One of my favorite things is taking part in the evening Ho‘ike! It’s so fun to watch all the different workshops perform their numbers and share what they’ve been working on. The whole night is filled with the spirit of aloha, everyone’s smiling, cheering, and just enjoying the moment together"

  • "I’ve always loved attending Hula Camp back in the Malibu days, but when it returned last year in San Diego after a five-year break, it truly felt rejuvenating! Seeing all my old friends again was like a big, happy reunion — everyone was smiling and having such a great time. The Kumu Hula were so gracious, and the volunteers were amazing too. It was such a heartwarming experience filled with aloha."
